I watched Seventh Heaven alot when ya'll was having the twins.I really liked how the show done with the people in a small town looked upon ya'll having more kids.I'm from a small town myself.I'm 28 and 3 months along with my fourth child.My other 3 kids are now 12,10.and 7 years old.Myself I'm happy what God gives me I don't worry what others think.But I was happy how ya'll done the show about having kids.People in a small town really look down on others having more than 2 kids.The baby is due July 10,2003.

Dear Stephen,
Where do I begin? When 7th Heaven first came out, I was a real confused person. My life was heading into a bottomless pit of drug abuse, and DWI(driving while intoxicated). I always figured that as long as I wasn't hurting anyone, except myself, what was wrong with my drug use? Well one night I fell asleep with a lit cigarette and burned down my home and almost killed my husband and son! A week later, I tried to kill myself by taking an overdose and luckily I fell asleep before I could carry out my plan to shoot myself in the head! You are probably saying to yourself,for heaven's sakes what a loser creep is writing to me. But believe me I am as sane as anyone else!
After my 3 day stay in the mental hospital, I began watching your show on a daily basis on Channel 5 in Los Angeles, and slowly but surely turned my life completely around! This show has been a godsend! It not only has made me a better parent to my 15 year old son, but a better spouse. A better friend and neighbor and so on......
I started by going to church for the first time in 15 years and although I have alot of spiritual growth ahead of me, it makes me happy and excited to know that God is always with me and always there to comfort me in good times and bad. What a relief!
I just wanted you to know that your show has changed my life completely and put me on the road to happiness, something that was lacking in my life for a long, long, long time! So, thank you for your hard work and for being a part of a television show that teaches family values to people that never had that growing up. YOU ARE MY HERO!

Stephen, just a short note to make contact. My PR & Marketing Company would like to contact you with regard to a project we are planning for the end 2003 - early 2004 whereby we will attempt to fly a Goose from the USA to Cape Town in South Africa as part of a historical flight. This would appear to be the furthest a Goose has ever flown, travelling through 23 Countries over a period of two to three months. Various people are being contacted to raise interest in maybe joining us for a leg or part of the journey during which aviation awareness will be the main focus, but also to collect funds for three large charities - Nelson Mandela's Children fund being one of these.
Since Tales of the Gold Monkey was screened in South Africa during the eighties, we're hoping to rejuvenate interest in these type of aircraft and maybe even inspire a rebroadcast of the series?

I'm a Jamaican who's at college here in the US. I started watching 7th Heaven about two years ago back home. I fell in love! :) It's a great show and it helps that I can invite others to watch it without having to include a 'warning' about so called 'adult language'. The close-knitted-family-filled-with-love reminds me of my own. Like I wrote home and mentioned the other day, with them (my family)I feel at home, in a Robert Frost kind of way. Y'know, "the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in."

I hope as the season progress Eric will realize that it was not gods fault that he had to have open heart surgery, and god still loves him even know he is not working as a minister right now. I hope the season finale 100 times better than last years.

You might remember meeting me at the NY Orchid Society Botanical Greenhouse thing back in the early 80's. There was quite a crowd milling about & I was someone's guest (Bill Kuznoff) who knew the old white-haired gentleman who was the head of it at that time. Anyway, I was happily surprised to see you walk in, plant-in-hand. But as you stepped through the door, wearing your army flack-jacket, you seemed to hesitate, looking all around the place as if you were afraid of being recognized from the soap opera you were doing at that time. But nobody stirred or stared in your direction. I saw you visible shake it off & straighten up. Then you walked straight across to the center under the peak of the greenhouse to ME! I didn't want to overwhelm you with fan-itis, having witnessed your entrance, so I just casually (but brightly) returned your smile & said, "Hi, um...your first attempt?" We then both looked down at your gracefully arched one-stem plant & you nodded almost in angst & said, "Yes, does it show?" I agreed with you that they are difficult plants to master & encouraged you that you'd have better results as you kept on. You, now so relaxed, beamed a sweet dimpled smile I can't forget & gratefully said "Thanks!" We went in different directions after that & I never saw you again until "7th Heaven" - to which I was instantly enthralled & consider all the Camdens to be people I'd like in my neighborhood as friends! Just wanted to say "hi" again & tell you it was great to meet you! OK to send photo to my home & certainly email me when you get a minute!

I have always been a fan of your diverse works (TV, MOVIES, THEATER, and NOVELS). It's so terrific to see people live their dreams activily.

This year was a unique year of ups & downs for all Americans and I found "7th Heaven" to be a huge comfort. The quality programming I'd so missed. I am 33 and have always been a fan of fluffy Classics (Doris Day, Grace Kelly, and Cary Grant films... from an era when the movies were not too in your face). 7th Heaven is a show I can get behind, I often moved by many episodes... joy, tears, it has it all. Please keep up the fabulous work. Your talents are so appreciated.

I was delighted to find out the Faye Grant (Of State of Grace fame, my second fave quality show)is your wife. Too cool!This year was my first year of Marriage to my Fabulous husband Tom, we now have a honeymoon baby named Merrick McCadden born on Bastille Day (7.14.02). I was put on bedrest early in my pregnency (2 months after my marriage)followed by a 7 week stay in the hospital till Merrick's birth while in preterm labor I looked forward to both shows taking me away to a positive place.

Our son is terrific almost four months old. I am back to work (A software enginner with big dreams of writing an acadamy winning screenplay someday), Your example shows me that it's best to just go for it. Follow through with your dreams... nothing but good can come from it. best of luck in all you future projects.

Family nights at the McCadden's will be tuning into 7th Heaven and the State of Grace reruns (what a bummer!).

Hi Mr Collins,

Just watched the episode on 7th Heaven (my favourite show on telly every Wednesday night here in New Zealand)about Mary having to go and live with her grandparents (your tv parents)after having taken money from the twins piggybanks, and where the family sits down and talks about it, and I envy the portrayal of brothers and sisters who love one another, and I cry anyway when I watch any touching stuff on your show, as I had wonderful parents who have now died, but a brother who used to hit me, and I had behavioural problems for years until God stepped in (I have become a committed Christian now) and in His wonderful, and most inexplicable way, took all those problems away, only now I seem to be remembered for the person I was, not the person I now am.

I read somewhere that in real life you are a minister, just like on the show, so could you please tell me how not to feel guilt that my hearing impairment (I am adopted)has somehow made my brother into what he is (he is adopted too - not same natural parents) and caused my parents pain because of my behavioural problems I had when they were alive. I feel bad that they adopted a child with "problems", and watching the pain that you and Catherine Hicks were in watching their "child" walking away from them, having caused them so much pain really made me cry.

You are a WONDERFUL actor, and role model for anyone, with that show, as are all the cast members, come to that, and we are about to have "Shine TV" come to NZ through our Sky Digital network (which I have)produced in conjunction with the Rhema Broadcasting (Radio) Network, so roll on more programmes like 7th Heaven to help improve our Nation, and our parents and young people of the future.

What does one have to do to convince someone, (ANYONE!!!),to bring out THE RHINEMANN EXCHANGE,either on TV again or on video/DVD? Yes, Stehen, you have done other wonderful things; but I am determined to see your mini-series again. Can't you "encourage" someone to do this? You have the best show on TV and I hope you never get sick of being Eric and the same with the rest of the cast. You can go on with 7th Heaven for many more years, I am sure. With Matt getting married and they will be giving you grand children and the others will get married and give you more grand children.

I have been watching 7th heaven from the beginning and I have loved watching your family grow up and go through normal family circumstances - I have learned so much of being a good parent just by watching you - and although I know it is just the "writers" who make your characters come alive - it is you and the wonderful cast you work with that make the show real and meaningful. Although 7th Heaven goes on at my son's bedtime I allow them to stay up late on Mondays so we can watch your show together. (Believe me- Tuesday mornings are not a pretty sight in my son's room - he is in first grade - but it is worth it because he learns so much that I wouldn't even consider not letting him watch). My husband is not a fan - thank God we have 2 televisions in the house - he thinks no one can live the way the Camden family does - but that is because he doens't have a clue of how God works in Families that are dedicated to Him. I have recently seen some of your other work and now I look forward to getting your books - hopefully someday I will find time to read them - I rarely read books without pictures since my 6yr. old is starting to learn to read and my 3 yr. old needs pictures - Needless to say - we are a 7th Heaven family and try never to miss an episode!! We think you are all wonderful - but you in my book are just too handsome for words.

Hey Mr. Collins,

While I live in the metro-Atlanta area, I am in Los Angeles for a few days for a special visit, and I saw you today at Tower Records. My mom, dad and I were standing in line, and you were right in front of us! Your tv show, 7th Heaven, is one of our family's very favorite; I'm at gymnastics practice every Monday evening but my dad records the show. When I was little, my dad and I never missed the chance to watch 7th Heaven together.

I'm actually in Los Angeles to receive an award called "Angels in Action" for my volunteer work with The American Cancer Society (www.angelsinaction.com). Our awards ceremony will be held on Monday morning, October 28th, at the EL CAPITON, and awards will be presented by Kelly Ripa. Thirty friends and I have a team called Kids For a Kure (KFK), and we've raised almost $60,000 to help find a cure for cancer. Anyway, that's why I'm here.

Today, my mom says she recognized you immediately but hadn't ever seen anyone as famous as you and that she actually admired and respected you so much that she didn't know what to say. She didn't want to intrude on your privacy so she didn't even tell me or my dad that she saw you. Anyway, I'm a little embarrassed at how my mom and I went on and on and on about the new mint/pen. My mom says she actually was making such a big deal out of it because she noticed that you kept looking over your shoulder and she was actually hoping you'd speak... imagine that! She's too weird!

I hope your show lasts a long time. My new favorite character, besides you of course, is Kevin. I would love it if you would write back. Thanks and you made our day special. ~Lauren

I have enjoyed your work for many years in both movies and series. One of the first shows I remember seeing you in was the series Tales of the Gold Monkey. I remember how much I enjoyed the show every week. I haven't seen it in about 20 years. I would love to watch it again. I was so glad to see the series 7th Heaven start. It gives both adults and youths a chance to see actual problems handled in a caring and loving manner. I think it's strange to see that even though you are a long way from where we live our lives seem to be similar in so many ways. I can't wait til we get the new series which will most likely be next year now since our nonrating shows will be on over Christmas and Newyear. So your very popular show will probablly start in February 2003 after the cricket of course. My little brother has Apraxia which is a sort of muscle problem that affects his whole body and thought this would be a good topic for your show to handle. My best friend and I love watching the show and particularly all the "chaos" that sometimes occurs, - especially in season 6!:)

One thing though - we HATE watching that Robbie-guy. He´s absolutely unbearable and what´s more, it´s literally UNBELIEVABLE that a guy like this adopts such an OVER-moral attitude and acts like a third parent to the other "kids".

Please don´t give Robbie that much space in the series. And what´s more, please don´t let him overtake as many of the family-responsibilities, it just doesn´t fit and is totally hard to believe to happen in real life.

First all you probably get this all the time so let me say I'm sorry right off the bat. I have an idea for the show. lol.... Sorry. I know I'm nobody, lol. I've been watching Big Brother 3 on CBS. I don't know if you caught the show or not, but one of the personalities on the the show is a guy named Jason and he's a virgin. So he is kind of a role model because he basically stands for "it's ok to be a virgin until you get married". My idea. I was thinking what if Mary met Jason while he was flying back from Big Brother 3 from LA to Alabama and they hooked up. Finally, Mary gets with a good guy. Anyway that's my goofy-ball idea. I may not have seen every movie he's done but have come pretty close. Saw his first book by chance while browsing a book store, bought it and read it in 2 days. Loved it. Petra's entry made me thoughtful. First of all, I don't think that 7th heaven has the function, especially in this case, to give background information about September 11! I think everybody knows about this terrorist-attacks last year and it is a very delicate problem in politics. Some think that these attacks has to be answered with violence against the terrorists, others do not.
What I want to say is that this subject should NOT be discussed in a series like 7th heaven.
"Ruthies message" that September 11 has changed the world IS right and this is enough to say.
This episode was especially about the families who lost their "men" in the war in general and in Afghanistan and "the 7th heaven-familiy" expressed their honor for the people who are going to die in war.
And I think 7th heaven did a great job with it.
This series is great because it occupies itself with so many problems like "school violence" or "taliban" etc. and it makes oneself thinking of many things which happens in life.

Today I saw the 9/11 episode “The Known Soldier” (we´re a bit behind when it comes to TV shows – and they probably wanted to show this particular ep on 11th Sep 2002) - and was extremely disappointed.
Not only did this episode lack a critical view on the events after the attacks - the patriotic dialogs were almost unbearable.
What happened to the “war-is-bad” message? To the writers who wrote the wonderful episode “Hate”? An episode that provided the watcher with background information about the situation of the German people, the events leading to WW 2 in the first place?
Instead the message today was merely “Our soldiers are in Afghanistan to defend freedom in America”.

Nobody – not even Eric, minister and pacifist – ever questioned if starting a war was the right way to react to the actions of one man. This episode was a 45 minute praise of the American army. At the end it listed the names of all the Americans who lost their lives in the fight against terrorism.
What about other people, other people, who were killed by American missiles? A Canadian friend of mine bemoans his pals who died due to a hasty American attack on their military base thinking it was a terrorist base. What about the hospital in Afghanistan that was destroyed killing hundreds of civilians?
Where do you draw the line?

Many people have written it in your guestbook already: You and the 7th heaven family are role models for people of all ages and not only in the USA.

I don´t doubt that there are brave (American) soldiers dying abroad. But shouldn´t your responsibility be to support the point of view that killing people can never right the wrong?

When I see your smiling faces! Stephen, do you realize the positive impact that you and your onscreen family have on this world? You create such a wonderful show for tv viewers which just proves that there is still good stuff on the tube! Everday at 5:00 I sit down to watch the re-run episodes of 7th Heaven since I dont get the WB as a regular channel. I've given up on all of the Will and Grace, Real World, soap opera type shows that say it's ok to be a non-christian and live life as a sin. I've battled with an eating disorder almost half of my life. As a 20 year old college student it's very hard to watch tv and feel good about myself when bone thin girls are the star of the show. Your show deals with real problems in a logical manner. The stars of the show aren't recognized for their bodies, or their sexual appearances, rather they are recognized for the message that they put out to the viewers. You should be proud to be part of a wonderful cast. If only more viewers would want to be more like your onscreen family than those on the Thursday night line up. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy a Friends episode just as much as the next person, but when comes down to it, 7th Heaven is definitely my favorite. Take care Stephen and good luck with your career. What ever your beliefs may be I pray that the Lord guides you and that a part of Eric Camdon is inside of you.

Hi Stephen,

Seventh Heaven has become my very favorite show since I started watching it in March. I tape it every day. The series helps me a great deal with the thorny issues I have with my teenage daughter, and now I feel I can make a stand with her. I have been promoting the series with my friends and anyone else who will listen. You would be surprised how popular it is with older teenagers.

I hope all is well for Barry and his cancer treatments. He is really a great actor and his career seemed to be progressing so well.

The one suggestion I would make to you and the rest of the cast, is show more affection to each other. We all seem to use your family as a role model, and I don't think there is enough affection in families, so I would like to see more kissing, hugging the kids good night, even sneak in a family prayer or two. I think we are ready, especially with the 9/11 anniversary coming up.

Thanks for your continued devotion to this series. It really has changed my life!

First of all, i would love to say I LOVE YOU STEPHEN COLLINS!!! Second, i was away all summer and was most unfortunately deprived of my alltime favorite show, Seventh Heaven. I don't know how in the world i survived for two months! Anyways, i got home from camp and i watched a tape of seventh heaven episodes that my friend taped for me while i was gone, and i was glued to my televesion set for hours, just mesmerized by the whole Camden family, but especially by Eric. He's such a wonderful father, all of his children should thank God every day for him! i know i would!

Stephen, growing up watching 7th Heaven has really impacted what life really means to me. I just graduated high school and I realized there really isn't a social life like high school, that it's time to keep the close friends I have. I started going to church every sunday because I want to, and it's a place to be when I'm confused. My Dad always hasn't been the dad I want him to be, and if I could choose a dad, I'd choose the one you play on tv. Later, keep rockin'!
