As a cowboy physicist in the little-seen action film "Choke Canyon," 1983. Shot on location in Moab, Utah, 1984. Released in 1986."I learned to ride for this movie from a great old trick rider named Rex Rossi, who doubled every Western movie hero that ever was. The director, Chuck Bail, a former stuntman, wanted me to toughen up and get into really good shape for the film. I only had about five weeks, but somehow I did it, which you can see in a wonderfully silly weightlifting scene early on - assuming, that is, that you can find a copy of the movie, which is not now, nor has never been, on Blockbuster's Top Ten Rental list. Bo Swenson and Lance Henricksen filled out the cast, and there's a fight scene where I beat up Bo, something that could only happen, I assure you, in the movies. There's also a terrific aerial chase in 'Choke Canyon' that was shot by an extraordinary stunt pilot named Rick Holly, who died in a helicopter accident during the making of the first 'Rambo' movie."
