With Blythe Danner in 'Tattinger's,' 1987, NBC. This series was too good to be true. It was shot in New York about ten minutes from where I lived, and Blythe was an old friend. We'd worked at The Williamstown Theatre Festival together, done a hit play in New York called 'The New York Idea' in '76, and the miniseries 'Inside The 3rd Reich' in '81. Blythe's husband Bruce Paltrow produced 'Tattinger's' with Tom Fontana, who went on to create and produce 'Homicide', John Tinker, who went on to 'Chicago Hope,' and Mark Tinker, the Emmy-winning director of 'NYPD Blue.' Bruce and Blythe are better known in some circles these days as the parents of Gwyneth Paltrow.
