Stephen Collins & the 7th Band again sold out LA's famed club, The Mint on Saturday, March 7th. The 7th Band — featuring guitar greats Laurence Juber (formerly of Wings) and Jon Walmsley on lead guitars, Jim Cox on keyboards, Domenic Genova on bass, with SC on rhythm guitar and John Ferraro on drums — did a 90 minute set of irony-free bar-band rock'n'roll.

Stephen completed a wonderful summer run at The Shubert Theater on Broadway as King Arthur in Monty Python's Spamalot, the Tony Award–winning Best Musical directed by Mike Nichols. Stephen thanks the many fans who came from all parts of the world to see him in the show.

Stephen was also seen last summer in the Hallmark Channel original film, Every Second Counts. He played ex-rodeo rider Joe Preston in a contemporary western drama set in the fast-moving world of rodeo penning competitions. Barbara Williams co-starred as Joe Preston's wife and Magda Aponowicz played their daughter, Brooke, a rising young star on the rodeo circuit. John Bradshaw directed.

Stephen appears in a new short film, Hole in the Paper Sky, produced by his former 7th Heaven castmate, Jessica Biel, and directed by William Purple. The half-hour film stars Jessica and Jason Clarke, and has won top honors at several 2008 film festivals. Awards include Best Drama and Best Director at the Beverly Hills Shorts Fest, and Best Short at The Florida Film Festival, The Beverly Hills Film Festival, and The Charleston International Film Festival. The movie was also a finalist at the USA Film Fest and an Official Selection at the Cannes Short Film Corner, The Boston International Film Fest, The Holly Shorts Film Festival, The Rhode Island International Film Festival, and The Palm Springs International Film Fest.

7th Heaven now airs in the U.S. on The Hallmark Channel, Monday-Friday at 1pm and 2pm EST, and Saturdays at 9am and 10am, as well as in many countries around the world. Click to check the local listings for The Hallmark Channel in your area.

Because I Said So, a romantic comedy, re-teams Stephen with Diane Keaton, his co-star in First Wives Club. Keaton plays the obsessive mother of three daughters, played by Mandy Moore, Lauren Graham, and Piper Perabo. Gabriel Macht and Tom Everett Scott also star. It was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by Michael Lehmann (Heathers).

Blood Diamond stars Leonardo DiCaprio (Oscar-nominated for this role), Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly, and Djimon Hounsou (also Oscar-nominated for this film). It was filmed in South Africa and directed by Edward Zwick (Legends of the Fall, Glory, The Last Samurai).

Stephen recently appeared as a Special Guest Star on Law & Order: SVU, which came in #1 in the Nielsen ratings for the night. Check your local listings for repeats.

Murder in the Rough, published by Otto Penzler's Mysterious Books, an imprint of Warner Books, is available now at amazon.com.
