"This, my Star Trek bubble gum card, is the closest I'll ever come to my childhood dream of being on a baseball card. Walter Koenig, of the original cast, is also a huge baseball fan, and he and I were thrilled to know that we'd be pictured on our own cards. Walter and I were the only two people on the entire Trek set who rooted for the Yankees during the Yankee-Dodger World Series in 1978. This picture was shot the day before principal photography began on the movie, and, since I'd just been cast, my hair hadn't been cut yet. My hair was shorter in the movie, with, of course, those pointed sideburns that I had to explain wherever I went out in public for the next six months."
